Guests of Crowne Plaza AiRE are invited to visit our on-site Northwest Airlines History Center to discover the vast history of Northwest Airlines, from its establishment in 1926 to its merger with Delta Air Lines in 2009. The museum offers an in-depth look at the airlines’ history through exhibits featuring models, photos, memorabilia, and artifacts from all the airlines that were part of Northwest's corporate history: Northwest Airways, Zimmerly, Empire, West Coast, Bonanza, Air West, Hughes Airwest, Southwest Airways, Southern, Wisconsin Central, North Central, and Republic.
Airline crews are especially invited to visit us during overnight MSP layovers! The Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport serves as the second largest hub airport for Delta Air Lines, and our hotel is just 3 miles from Terminal 1. Fly into the Twin Cities and immerse yourself in aviation history by booking a hotel room on one of our unique aviation-themed floors, and visit our Northwest Airlines History Center.
The wheelchair-accessible museum is located right on our hotel's third floor, across from the fitness center and Concorde Conference Room, and admission is free. Bring a piece of your Northwest Airlines History Center experience home with you! The museum also features a small gift shop, perfect for a special souvenir.
